At some point diving with a single cylinder runs into a problem: Perhaps the amount of gas you carry becomes the limiting factor, perhaps you need redundency to deal with problems at depth…

This is where, as divers, we start looking at twin tank configurations.

The benefits of a backmount twinset configuration include:

• Gas supply: Doubling your tank volume allows for longer bottom time, deeper exploration, or extra gas reserves for conservative gas planning.

• Improved redundancy over single tank diving. If a problem occurs, one regulator can be shut down and still allow you to breathe from the other.

• Increased self-sufficiency and problem solving options.

• Twinset is often the entry point into deep and technical diving.

The RAID Twinset course teaches students to use the equipment and techniques involved in diving with a backmounted twinset with a manifold. From kit setup, through buoyancy, trim and streamlining, to gas management and problem solving. This course can be intensive and more than a simple introduction. Students will learn safe and responsible practices, emergency drills, and problem solving for diving with twin cylinders.

DURATION
Online learning at your own pace, with consultation sessions if required.
Pre-course – theory reviews, equipment intro and dry skills practice is reomended ahead of the weekend if plausible, to maximise time in water.
Day 1 – Dry setup and skills, and in-water skills work.
Day 2 – Open water dives putting knowledge and skills into practice, and problem solving scenarios.

PREREQUISITES
Open Water 20 Diver or equivalent certification.
You must be minimum of 15 years old and medically fit to dive.
We highly recommend that you have you own drysuit & drysuit experience before commencing this course.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING
A willingness to learn and be challenged!
Any completed forms we have requested.
Any diving gear you own – we can provide some items of kit if you don’t have any.
If you have your own kit that you are plannig on using for the course, and require setup, we can do this but will need to set aside some time.

*Site entry fees may apply to certain dive sites, and gas fills are not included.
