If you were handed an Emergency Oxygen kit to help another diver, would you know how to use it? Oxygen is an amazing gas to have access to in an emergency. In almost all circumstances it’s beneficial and access to it as a diver is important, as it is known to help with scuba diving problems such as decompression illness (DCI).
In some common non-diving emergency first aid and secondary care scenarios breathing O2 can benefit the patient immensely. As an Emergency Oxygen Provider you will be able to recognise various problems experienced by divers in trouble and treat them appropriately, should the need arise.
You will also learn how providing emergency oxygen helps in various scenarios along with different types of delivery systems available and how to use them effectively. If you on a dive boat, and know where the kit is, you will gain the confidence to be able to help others in an emergency.
