Welcome To Dive South

When looking for an Open Water course for my son I was looking for more than your run of the mill dive course which I received all those years ago.
Wow Richard and Lisa delivered so much more. Their passion, enthusiasm and meticulous approach was second to none.
My son came out looking more like an advanced diver not Open Water and had so much fun doing it too.
It doesn't stop there, after the course they encouraged him to go diving and join them on dives. It is great how the team made you feel like one of the dive family.

What a nice time I had doing my RAID Open Water 20 course with Richard and Lisa.
I had so much fun learning to hold my trim and SMB work.
They made me feel so welcome in the dive communityand I can’t wait to do my next course/dive with them again.

I’ve just completed a sidemount course with Dive South, and I think they’re the best instructors I’ve had. I met Rich and Lisa at a try dive and immediately got a good gut feel…

...I felt welcomed, listened to, and understood when I talked about what I wanted to achieve … Rich and Lisa’s passion and enthusiasm for teaching are immediately obvious, but the most important thing for us was that it was very clear that safety and our comfort were the top priorities; we were free to say no, stop, or walk away at any point without judgement.

Even as I pushed the idea of “no stupid questions” to its limit, Rich and Lisa’s patience, knowledge, and clear explanations never ran out – and I always felt encouraged to keep asking more. To steal a phrase - while I qualified somewhere else, I learned to dive with Dive South.”

Just a quick Thankyou Richard and Lisa for a great introduction to side mount. It brought back memories of when I first took up scuba and started breathing beneath the waves.

I’ve lacked direction for some time unsure wether to go ccr or stay open circuit . This trydive certainly cleared the muddy waters for me . I will be looking to do a side mount course...

I have just completed RAID Master Rescue training with the team at Dive South and it has been an exceptional experience!
It had been a while since I had done any formal dive training and I wanted to build my confidence in the water so it felt like time to do my rescue diver training!
I chose Dive South for their meticulous, personal approach to diver training with a real attention to detail. They really lived up to their reputation, Lisa and Rich are superb instructors with a wealth of knowledge and experience.
I was a bit unsure of my abilities going into the course but their expert guidance and constructive feedback really helped me quickly move forward.
So, If you're not sure about doing a course or who to choose for your training, I cannot recommend the team at Dive South enough. I will certainly be returning to them for more training and dive trips!

 Choosing RAID has been a justified decision with their technical approach and focus on being the best divers in terms of technique and ethics. The Explorer 30 course and  Drysuit combined course was extremely rewarding. The guys really know their stuff and help to work through the best options for the individual - suit options, varying techniques and even ways of thinking about the theory to make it stick. I'm progressing much more quickly than I expected and I'm entirely sure that is predominantly due to the teaching of the guys at Dive South.

I don't think you could ever find a nicer bunch of people than the Dive South team. The courses are really well organised, safety is paramount, and the teaching is second to none. From my first tentative pool session doing my 'Discover Scuba Diving' to the open water dives in the sea, Lisa my instructor talked me through everything so clearly, reassured me when I needed it, and waited so patiently, never rushing me, whilst I did all of my dive skills. I cannot thank her, and the rest of the team, enough for giving me the confidence and self belief to be able to enjoy an amazing underwater world that I have completely fallen in love with. I am now looking forward to continuing to dive regularly and doing my Advanced Open Water. If you need more convincing, then give them a call and have a chat, but don't be surprised if you end up with a scuba diving session booked...you'll soon be hooked 😉
